Entry and Visa Requirements
To study in Ireland, Sri Lankan students must first get an offer from a recognized institution listed on the ILEP (Interim List of Eligible Programmes). After receiving your Letter of Acceptance, you must apply for a Long Stay Study Visa (Stamp 2) through the VFS Global centre in Sri Lanka. Visa processing is done by the Irish Embassy in New Delhi and may take 6–12 weeks.
You must show proof of your tuition payment and at least €10,000 for your first-year living costs. English tests like IELTS or TOEFL are required, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 for most universities.
Work and Stay Back in Ireland
Students can work part-time up to 20 hours a week during study and full-time during holidays. After graduation, you can apply for the 1G Stay Back Visa, allowing you to work in Ireland for up to two years.
