Swansea University Sri Lanka Bursary 2025/26 – £6,000 for Sri Lankan Students

If you plan to study in the UK, the Swansea University Sri Lanka Bursary is a great chance to save money on your tuition fees. This bursary offers a £6,000 discount in the first year, and it is automatically awarded to eligible Sri Lankan students. You don’t need to apply separately.

Who Can Get the Bursary

To be eligible for the Swansea University Sri Lanka Bursary, you must:

  • Be an overseas student for fee purposes.
  • Be self-funding your studies.
  • Have ordinary residence in Sri Lanka for the past five years.
  • Start a full-time taught course at Swansea University in the 2025/26 academic year.

The bursary applies to these courses: BA, BEng, BSc, LLB, MA, MEng, MBA, MSc, PGCE, LLM, MPharm, and MBBCh.

It does not apply to PhD, MPhil, MRes, or professional diploma programmes.

Your course fees must be £16,000 or more per year to qualify.

Progression Bursary

If you are an undergraduate student, you will get a £2,000 progression bursary each year after your first year. This is given only if you pass and move to the next level.

If you repeat a year, you will not receive the bursary for that year, but you can get it again when you progress.

Total Value of the Swansea University Sri Lanka Bursary

The Swansea University Sri Lanka Bursary helps you save a lot over your study period.

  • First year: £6,000 off tuition fees
  • Each next year: £2,000 off per year

If you study a 3-year degree, you can get up to £10,000 in total.

If you study a 4-year degree, you can get up to £12,000 in total.

The bursary is added automatically — no separate application is needed.

You just need to pass each year to keep receiving it.

Other Important Details

  • The bursary cannot be deferred to another academic year but may be used for a new intake month in the same year.
  • You cannot receive more than one bursary from Swansea’s Marketing and International Directorate at the same time.
  • The maximum combined amount of all Swansea University awards is £7,000 per academic year.
  • If you stop or suspend your studies, the bursary will be kept in your account and used when you return.
